Two things live here. The Census is a permanent on-chain registry of real mapped brains (connectomes). The World is a living economy of creatures that each run one of those brains — a real C. elegans worm that senses, crawls, eats, and breeds entirely on its own. You don't steer it. You own it, feed it, breed it, and trade it.

What you own

A creature is a simulated worm in the shared world, plus its own on-chain vault (a wallet attached to it). Buying it makes you its owner — you can feed, breed, list, sell, mint it as an NFT, or liquidate it.

How its worth grows

SOL collects in the creature's vault: automatic reward payouts every epoch for living well (foraging, longevity, molting, offspring, dominance), plus royalties when its own offspring get sold. Raise it well; its number goes up.

How you profit

Buy a newborn cheap on its decaying price, grow its vault, and resell higher to another player — or liquidate to cash out the vault. The value shown is spendable SOL, above the account's tiny on-chain rent minimum.

The risk — read this

Creatures die on their own — starvation, disaster, or killed by a rival — and a dead creature settles its vault and burns its NFT. Feeding costs SOL. Treat every buy as possible total loss. Today it runs on Solana devnet: the SOL is free test tokens, not real money yet.

A live population whose generation-zero genomes are the literal registered connectome weights — every synapse of Cook et al. 2019, in canonical edge order. Creatures sense food gradients through their real chemosensory neurons and crawl on segmented bodies: the source names its body-wall muscles by position (dBWML1–24, head to tail), so every segment bends under the muscles that exist at that position in the real animal. They eat, breed, and die for real. The engine is integer-only Rust: same history, same hash — always, for everyone. This preview mirrors the one living world — the same world, the same history, for everyone. Enter the world to sign in, own a creature, and trade. Every creature runs the actual C. elegans connectome — Cook et al. 2019, registered on-chain. It senses food through its real chemosensory neurons and crawls with the muscles that exist at each body position. Behavior isn't scripted; it's the wiring.

One first-instar fruit fly larva. Its brain is the complete Winding et al. 2023 connectome — 2,952 real neurons, 110,677 real synaptic connections — spiking live in this page. Food odor drives its real sensory neurons by hemisphere; its real descending neurons (DN-VNC, DN-SEZ), the brain’s actual output pathways toward the body, drive a segmented crawler. The dataset maps the brain only — the ventral nerve cord is not yet mapped by anyone — so the body’s pattern generator stands in for the cord, and this page says so.
